CADMIUM CHLORIDE INFLUENCE ON OXYDATIVE STRESS PROGRESS

O.V. Pavichenko, P.A. Kaliman

Cadmium chloride was shown to cause the oxidative stress progress in rat luhg. That was proved by the increase of both the heme oxygenase-1 (stress protein) and the TBA-active products (MDA) content 24 h after cadmium administration. Oxidative stress progress was caused by the accumulation of strong prooxidant heme entering into lung cells as the result of inravascular hemolysis. That is cofermed by the heme content increasing in rat blood serum. The increase of both the serum MDA content and the level of erythrocyte spontaneous hemolysis after cadmium chloride administation was observed.
