Sorbing activity of such sorbents as SKN, KAU and polymethylsiloxane (PMS) on relation to radioactive caesium-137, and also to cadmium, lead, and mercury has been studied. It is shown that a radioactive caesium-137 is most effectively absorbed at alkaline value of medium рН. Effectiveness the sorbents are decreased in to row: SKN > KAU > PMS. The sorbents SKN and KAU have good sorbing activity on relation to lead, cadmium and mercury as into acidic medium as into alkaline one, and PMS is effective sorbent mainly to lead into neutral and alkaline medium. Use of such sorbents as SKN, KAU, and PMS brings about reliable lowering of caesium-137 and the metal levels in blood of men.
