DDT EFFECT ON RAT LIVER, LUNGS AND BRAIN NITRIC OXIDE SYNTHASC ACTIVITY

V.V. Sumbayev, I.M. Yasinskaya

It was established that DDT is the isostenc nitric oxide synthase inhibitor in vitro and decrease the quantity of this enzyme in rat liver, lungs and brain in vivo. Assumed that DDT as steroid like compound inhibits the expression of the nitric oxide synthase genes. Established that inducing liver, lung and brain cytochrome P-450 DDT inhibits formation of their inhibitors — nitric oxide, inhibiting the nitric oxide synthase and superoxide, allosterically inhibiting xanthine oxidase.
