STUDY OF ANTIOXIDANT AND HEPATOPROTECTIVE PROPERTIES OF THE COMPOSITION "METAVIT" IN ACUTE ACETAMINOPHEN INTOXICATION

Possibility of correction of hepatotoxic effects of acetaminophen by the composition "Metavit" was studied on white rats in vivo. Rate of generation of superoxide anions and hydroperoxide contents in liver mitochondria, homogenate catalase activity and contents of reduced glutathione in it, as well as state of peroxidation processes in microsomasl fraction and activity of aminotransferases and alkalaine phosphatase were studied; liver mass coefficient was calculated.

Use of the composition "Metavit" normalized superoxide anion level and contents of hydroperoxides in rat liver mitochondria, increased contents of reduced glutathione and catalase activity, prevented increase of intensivity of induced formation of interaction products with thiobarbituric acid as well as lowered transferase and alkaline phosphatase activity in blood serum.
