N.R. Shepelskaya

Evaluation of toxicity data and reproductive toxicity hazard identification of all pesticides used in Ukraine were carried out. The classification of pesticides according to their established reproductive toxicity and dose-response assessment vas done.

It was revealed that the significant part of testing chemicals (67%) induced an adverse reproduction effects at various dosage levels (1—3 Categories). However only 9,3% of pesticides were toxic to reproduction at exposure levels which do not produce other signs of toxicity (1—2 Categories). Hazard Index for 2,5% of testing chemicals was more than 1 (1 Category) and therefore those compounds were prohibited for use in Ukraine.

It was shown that pesticides specific property to produce reproduction effects (1—2 Categories) does not depend on its acute toxicity.
