Sodium nitrite and nitrobenzene at toxic dozes, except for methhaemoglobin-formation, have definitr membranotoxic action, which is shown by increase of capillary permeability of a skin at mice and decrease osmotic stability of erithrocytes in rat. The preventive introduction of a combination methylene blue and pyridoxim before poisoning of animals by these poisons reduces membrane toxik of displays.
