EFFECTIVENESS OF ANTIHYPOXANTS IN ACUTE PHOSPHORORGANIC COMPAUNDS

Antihypoxic protective effects of sodium-hydroxybutyrate, cytochrome C, and bemityl were compared in 18 rats after poisoning with 2 LD50 of phosphororganic insecticide. Cytochrome C and bemityl did not show any protective effect, all rats died. Sodium-hydroxybutyrate significantly lowered cellular damage and metabolic disorders, all animals survived.
