MECHANISNS OF INTOXICATIONS

SMALL INTESTINE MUCOSA EPITELIUM APOPTOSIS IN RATS UNDER LEAD INTOXICATION

S.P. Lugovskoy

In experiments on rats the intensity of regenerating processes and apoptosis of mucosa crypts both in duodenum and jejunum epithelium under intraperitoneal administration of 125 mg/kg lead acetate for 21 days (2 times a day) was studied by means of light and electronic microscope. The results obtained were compared to the control after 1, 5, 10 and 21 days of the intoxication. It is shown that lead acetate induces apoptosis of mucosa epithelium of different parts of small intestine, which is mostly expressed in jejunum in comparison to duodenum. It is marked the significant proliferation oppression of epithelium. In spite of that morphologically marked atrophic changes in mucosis weren't observed. It is supposed that apoptosis is the protective reaction of the cryptal epithelial cells of small intestine mucosis on the action of lead promoting the cleanness of genome of actively proliferated cells.
