MECHANISNS OF INTOXICATIONS

THE CONCENTRATIONS OF SOME STEROID HORMONES, PURINE CATABOLISM PRODUCTS AND NITRIC OXIDE AEROBIC OXIDATION INTERMEDIATES IN BLOOD SERUM OF WOMEN'S FROM THE REGIONS POLLUTED BY POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENILS

The concentrations of 17-hydroxycorticosteroids, pregnandiol, estrogens, testosterone, uric acid, xanthine and nitric oxide aerobic oxidation products were studied in the blood serum of 12-18 year girls from Sarata — the region polluted by polychlorinated biphenils. Also the activity of cytochrome P450 aromatase was studied in the placenta of 18-25 year women from Sarata. Established that the concentrations of 17-hydroxycorticosteroids, testosterone and xanthine are increased and the quantities of estrogens, pregnandiol, uric acid and NO aerobic oxidation products are decreased in the blood serum of Saratian girls in comparison to the same age girls from Odessa. The aromatase activity in placenta of Saratian women strongly decreased in comparison to the same age women from Odessa.
